Censorship vs. Spectatorship
Tiananmen square 1989. An event we, in the western world, all know and see as a sign of liberty. In China, almost nobody knows about what happened this day. The picture is forbidden, and it is also unknown if the man who is standing there, knows that this picture is famous in our world. With this series of posters, I wanted to show the big contrast in manipulation between the western and the Chinese media and government. We want to make a spectacle out of every event and blow the story. In China, a lot is censored, and the government is acting like this was just a day.
